2006 McBIC Family Schedule
Howdy Partner!
So, what exactly is a partner and what makes us your
partner? Well, to appear scholarly we checked Webster’s
Dictionary. Did you know that "one of the reinforcing
timbers used to support a mast" is a partner? So is
"either of two persons dancing together." But of course
we’re not referring to either of these definitions.
However, "one who has a share or part in anything with
another" fits our understanding of this partnership. As
do "a sharer" and "either or any one of the players on
the same side or team."
The partnership we’re referring to is the one between
McBIC’s children’s ministries and your family. We believe
God has given you the primary responsibility in the
spiritual training and teaching of your family. But we
also realize that this is an awesome task and we want to
partner with you to make available the tools and resources
you need to carry this out. It’s a long road between here
and the empty nest, right? So let’s see what we can
accomplish together, partner!
One way that we are attempting to partner with you is to
provide you with positive family activities. The
following list is one that we’ve created with several
goals in mind. First, we wanted to let you know what kinds
of beneficial and wholesome activities are available in
this area. Sometimes we get stuck in a rut and can’t seem
to find new and creative activities for our families.
Second, we desired to include activities that you can use
as outreach tools. While you may not feel comfortable
inviting your “unchurched” neighbor to a baptism service
or a praise and worship night, you may find some of these
activities less threatening. Third, we attempted to
include ministry options for your family. We want to teach
our children the value of serving others but sometimes
it’s difficult to find tangible ways to do so throughout
the year.
Don’t let this list overwhelm you. Choose only those
activities that fit your family and that will help you
"train up your child". More specific details will be
given as each activity arrives.

up to be quite an exciting time for kids, parents and
the whole family. Families can sign up to come one night,
or for all four. We’ll have games, activities, dramas
and so much more. Families will be sure to leave each
evening not only with a smile on their faces because of
the good time they had, but also with a sense of unity as
we build up the family unit each evening. This is a week
for those in church and those who have never been to church.
