Saul of Tarsus is Converted

Series: Unstoppable
Speaker: Layne Lebo

We’re studying the New Testament Book of Acts this summer at McBIC. The name Acts is shorthand for the full name: Acts of the Apostles, but that’s really a misnomer. This book is the account of the Acts of the Holy Spirit in the early church. God’s miraculous activity is seen throughout this book. Last week we saw God miraculously direct Philip to the Ethiopian eunuch who just happened to be in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah. Today we’ll look at Saul’s miraculous conversion. And next week we’ll study a miraculous vision Peter had which completely changed his understanding of what it meant to follow God. The question of whether it’s really the Acts of the Apostles or the Acts of the Holy Spirit highlights the interplay between God’s role and our role in doing his work— a theme that recurs throughout Acts and one that we’ll be reflecting on today.
