Youth Ministry - Vision Statement

“But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3: 16-18 (NIV

1

We need to recognize our brokenness and turn to the Lord, having the veil that sin creates removed so that we may see Christ.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3: 23-24 (NIV)

2

Once the veil is removed we will experience the Spirit of the Lord and the freedom that comes from knowing Christ and His truth.

“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’” John 8: 31 (NIV)

3

Those who have received this freedom will begin to reflect the Lord’s glory through a new life. Their actions and words and spirit will all reflect the Lord’s glory. Others will be drawn to the Lord, because of what they see in those who have the Spirit of the Lord.

“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were un-schooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” Acts 4: 13 (NIV)

4

The more we know the Lord, the more we will become like Him

“Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will” Romans 12: 1-2 (NIV)
